70% Belize Dark Chocolate
Our 70% Belize dark chocolate begins in the lush hills of southern Belize with the farmers of Maya Mountain Cacao, the same partners we trusted for the very first bag of beans we brought into our test kitchen back in 2013. Before we had awards, before we had a storefront, we had these beans, and a belief that chocolate could taste better.
In 2019, that belief took us back to the source. Ben, one of our chocolate makers and the son of our founders, spent a week in Belize walking the farms, cracking open fresh cacao pods, and stirring fermenting beans alongside the people who grow them. It’s one thing to make chocolate. It’s another to know it at its roots.
That same year, this bar earned a Good Food Award, a nod to what happens when great ingredients and real relationships come together.
So what does it taste like?
Think bright citrus and ripe red berries up front, mellowing into a soft nuttiness and a clean, lingering cocoa finish. It’s layered, balanced, and just bold enough to keep you coming back for one more square.
This is chocolate with a story you can taste, from the Maya farmers who grow it, to the hands that craft it, to the moment you let it melt.
